In the age of the Shopping Malls of America, White Flint Mall in Montgomery County, Maryland, part of the Washignton DC metro-plex, was one of the greatest. As this type of shopping experience faded in fashion across the USA and shopping malls no longer had the predominate space in American social life, the often valuable real estate beneath meant destroying and trucking away the debris of what had cost millions to build so that something "better" could take the space over. Whether apartments, or a new, more-fashionable outdoor shopping experience, the castles of brand names crumble then rise again, but the bright, shining consumer remains the same.
